Hello π Surprisingly enough, last week I finally got TikTok... I thought I would never say this, but here I am, like every other human, with a TikTok account π So head there to check out the madness of this new world LOL @sofia_monaci
Anyhoooow, my first video there is about improving your hand-free sketching skills Youtube Video on How to Improve Free-hand sketching skills fast ... I LOVE sketching more than everything. Every time I start a new project, I am so so looking forward to creating the sketch. Yes, painting, shading and colouring are equally fun, and it's where the true nature of your creation takes form, but I SIMPLY LOVE the first sketching phase... Seeing your white pure paper being spoiled and grey contours appearing more and more vividly it is just too satisfying. Let me know in the comments below if you are obsessed with sketching too π Free-hand sketching is not comparable to any other technique, I believe, because it is so relaxing and calming; moreover, in doing so, you really train your eye and hand, shoulder and wrist to work in synchrony. However, I have to say it is not the best way to get started - especially if you are a beginner and you want to improve fast. It is extremely important to MEASURE all the single components of your reference photo to get the proportions right, and especially if you are scaling your reference, you should use some sort of guide to make sure you don't end up with a weird looking alien. Therefore, in that specific tutorial I talk about how you can really work on your free-hand sketching skill and combine it with the grid method - which is more rigorous, but less fun and natural - to improve your eye-hand coordination and get used to measuring proportions with your eyes FAST. Now, enough chit-chat and no more spoilers; go and check the Youtube video for more details about this topic π
