 Hello everyone! This is my very first post, and hopefully the first of many! 

Let's start with some fun facts about me... mmm, let's see... I am Italian, but I have always dreamt of living in the UK and speaking English fluently. Now, I achieved both dreams but... I still have a bit of an accent 😖 Comment below if you could figure it out from my Youtube video(s) where I was from.

Another fun fact about me. Actually, I am an engineer - biomedical, precisely - and I am doing a PhD... MIND BLOWING 😱 "So why is she creating a blog and videos about art?" Well, it is simple... I have always loved Art. I have always loved drawing -  I can't even remember the first time I drew or painted something for fun, because in my mind I have always done it - and I have been always fascinated by the history of beautiful lives and movements that shaped Art as we know. So this blog and my Youtube videos are about my great passion for Art, that I cannot otherwise share in any other way. (And why am I an engineer and not an artist, you might be wondering? Because I love Maths, Programming, Physics, the beauty of medical models just as much 😉).

 Hello hello hello! It has been a while since my first post but I was getting ready to post my first Youtube Video! Which is now live 🙌  If you haven't watched it yet, make sure to check it out.  How to Paint a Lion in Watercolours  is my first real creation...  Painting using only one watercolour pencil and a brush is the BEST WAY to learn how to handle your art equipment and shade and add tones and values correctly. I did a challenge about it on my Youtube channel -  Painting an Elephant Using Only 1 Pencil  - where I go in more details on how I achieved this using a 6B Aquarelle Pencil (Faber-Castell) and a 6 Round Brush (Faber-Castell). The choice of these two elements is critical to achieve a good result; if your pencil is not soft enough, you won't achieve really dark values, but at the same time if it is too soft it would probably be hard to have a variety of different grey values. On the other hand, if the brush is flat, you will be able to cover large areas (the body, the ear of the elephant in this case) but you won't be able to achieve small details.
